When byrd launched its e-commerce logistics service in 2016, outsourcing the fulfillment of online orders was something relatively new to e-commerce retailers. Since then, the European e-commerce market has seen double digit growth every single year which has made it a very dynamic and fast-changing environment. While trying to understand the market dynamics, byrd also needed to adjust its service to get to the right product-market fit. In the presentation Petra will talk about how the company has developed throughout the last 6 years and which challenges it has overcome to get to where it is today.
Petra is co-founder and CCO of byrd, an TUW i²c alumni startup that is building Europe’s leading e-commerce fulfillment network. Petra studied at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business and has been active in the startup world for about 10 years now.
She started her journey at the recipe & food delivery startup KochAbo (now Marley Spoon) where she was taking care of marketing, business development and Country Management. She then joined the restaurant delivery service foodora to launch the brand in Singapore, the first Asian market for the company. Upon returning to Vienna in 2016, Petra co-founded byrd and is responsible for the commercial side of the business, including Marketing, Sales, Partnerships and Expansion. Today byrd has more than 200 employees and runs its logistics network across 6 European markets.
