Participating Departments

Service Unit of Responsible Research Practices

The TU Service Unit of Responsible Research Practices supports researchers and lecturers at TU Wien in questions regarding research ethics and research integrity. In addition, the Service Unit also advises the Rectorate, the faculties and institutes on their strategic orientation in the area of research ethics and research integrity. The Service Unit also hosts the Pilot Research Ethics Committee and builds structures for responsible research. Achieving and maintaining the highest standards for research ethics, including research integrity, are central responsibilities of research-performing organizations and institutions of higher education today.

Service Group for Patent and License Management

Scientific research and development at TU Wien often forms the basis for novel, innovative products or processes that can be used in a variety of fields. In the implementation of the often still basic research results into an actual product, securing the research results and the rights of TU Wien and its inventors is one of the decisive steps.

The crucial document for this purpose is the invention disclosure form, which must be completed, signed, and sent to Research and Transfer Support.

This also includes inventions generated during collaborations with the industry and other research institutions.

The staff members of Patent and Licence Management provide support to inventors of TU Wien in filing patent applications and in patent management, as well as in the implementation and exploitation of inventions.

Service Unit of Research and Transfer Support

Research and Transfer Service Unit supports individual scientists and research teams at TU Wien in various research and transfer activities.

A major aim of TU Wien’s social mission is the transfer of its research-based knowledge and competence to society for public benefit. Another essential objective of Research and Transfer Service Unit’s activities is the national and international positioning of TU Wien as an excellent research institution.

Service Unit of Funding Support and Industry Relations

The “Funding Support and Industry Relations” support unit is the central point of contact for researchers at TU Wien and interested partners from the public and private sectors. We provide advice to TU Wien researchers on how to obtain third-party funding. As a bridge between business and academia, we support the search for collaboration partners. We do this by:

  • Providing information on relevant funding programmes
  • Personal consultancy meetings
  • Organising information and networking events

Service Unit of Center for Research Data Management

The Center for Research Data Management is a Service Unit that supports researchers to manage their data and code along the life cycle and according to the FAIR principles. A multidisciplinary team provides assistance with drafting data management plans, with data sharing and data publishing as well as with technical services such as a repository.
