What do our alumni think about the program?

The ESI program was a fantastic decision to start my own entrepreneurial journey, as it has given me the confidence, skills, and necessary knowledge to pursue my dreams and turn my ideas into reality. I found the hands-on approach of the program to be particularly effective, as it allowed me to apply the concepts and ideas I learned to my own project that I am passionate about. The lecturers and mentors we had were highly experienced in their fields and provided priceless insights about the startup world. I had the opportunity to meet many inspiring individuals and entrepreneurs and build great friendships.

Elitza Vasileva, Alumna 2022 | COO and Co-Founder of own.page

The Extended Study on Innovation is the only sensible way at TU Wien to learn and practice entrepreneurship. The combination of theory, exercises and hands-on projects was highly valuable for me - I recommend it to anybody having interest in implementing their own ideas.

Christoph Krofitsch, Alumnus 2016 | Co-Founder of byrd

The ESI opened my mind for a lot of new career opportunities. We learned how to lead and manage innovation projects. I also learned how to take my own research out of the university and found my own company. The program really helped me develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and showed me that everyone can have a big impact in the business world.

Lisa Smith, Alumna 2015 | CEO and Founder of Prewave

I think the Extended Study on Innovation is one of the best things that could have happened to me and the idea I am working on. Seeing the progress we have made during the program, it’s just fascinating. The lecturers and mentors are all from the industry, and they are really experts in their respective fields! Before joining the program, I thought; “this is me and that is the startup world”, and now I am in it!

Marian Stoschitzky, Alumnus 2020 | Co-Founder & CEO of Zeitgeber

The ESI has been a great challenger and enabler for my project to develop and implement an idea management program within a large enterprise. A hobby turned into a profession. I enjoyed the connections to industry and innovation experts and would recommend the curriculum to ambitious pioneers - both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.

Milica Sundic, Alumna 2014 | Digital Project Manager at Mondi Group

The Extended Study on Innovation offered a lot of new content that complemented my technical studies very well. The small group provided enough diversity to foster discussions while still allowing befriending the fellow students. At the time of the curriculum I was both a student as well as a startup founder, and it provided me with a well needed "wider view" of entrepreneurial thinking.
