SUMMARY:#EoI - Setting up Research Partnerships with Industry
DESCRIPTION:Join this Masterclass to learn about creating impact for your research with industry relationships \n\n\n\n\nMany promising technologies and ideas reach their full potential only through collaboration with industry partners. This workshop explores how researchers\, innovators can build meaningful relationships with companies\, understand their priorities and decision-making processes\, and create pathways from research to industry partnerships. Partnering with industry can accelerate your impact\, open up new funding avenues\, and provide access to industrial data\, infrastructure\, and validation. Yet\, corporate environments operate on different timelines\, incentives\, and risk profiles than academia. This workshop provides you with the toolkit to speak the “language of industry” without compromising your scientific integrity. \nKey Takeaways \n– Understanding Industry Collaboration \n– Navigating Corporate Structures and Decision-Making \n– From Technology to Real-World Impact: Structuring Partnerships \nThe workshop combines short\, high-impact theoretical inputs and real-world case studies with highly interactive exercises. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own technologies\, research ideas\, or ongoing projects or will work on examples. Throughout the session\, you will actively apply the workshop tools to your own work\, developing a concrete\, actionable plan to engage with industry partners and design a clear pathway toward real-world impact. \nThis workshop is delivered through a joint collaboration between the Innovation Incubation Center (i²c) and the service unit Industry Engagement und Partnerships of TU Wien. By combining expertise in technology transfer\, entrepreneurship\, and corporate matchmaking\, we provide researchers with a holistic framework to bridge the gap between science and industry successfully. \nAbout the speaker \nViktoria Ilger is the founder of Sustainable Transformers and an expert in innovation and corporate collaboration. Over the past ten years\, she has worked at the intersection of industry\, startups\, and new technologies. At AVL\, one of the world’s leading mobility technology companies\, she built and led the Open Innovation activities\, connecting startups\, researchers\, and business units to accelerate the development and implementation of new technologies. \nToday\, she supports organizations\, startups\, and innovators in building meaningful partnerships and navigating the complexity of collaboration. She is also a founding and board member of Venture Clienting Austria\, a non-profit initiative dedicated to promoting collaboration between startups and established organizations and sharing best practices across the ecosystem. \nHer work focuses on how innovation emerges between organizations and how relationships with industry can accelerate the journey from ideas and technologies to real-world impact. In addition\, she lectures on innovation management and regularly facilitates workshops for startups\, corporates\, and public institutions. \nShe believes that great technologies rarely create impact in isolation and that meaningful collaboration is often the key to accelerating ideas into impact. \nCheck Viktoria Ilger on Linkedin \nAbout the Engines of Innovation Series \nThe Engines of Innovation Series organized by the TU Wien Innovation Incubation Center (i²c) is a format that offers workshops to scientists who are seeking to broaden their horizons in the field of innovation and healthy high performance. These workshops are free of charge to scientists from all faculties and institutes of TU Wien. Registration required. \n_______________________________________________________________________________________ \nImportant: \n*During the event\, photographic and video material will be taken.
