University-Business Cooperation

University-Business Cooperation (UBC) has become a major topic of interest for policymakers, HEI managers and academics across the world due to their potential to spur innovation, research impact and employability of students. Nevertheless, UBC remains challenging due to its complexity. From a highly experienced expert responsible for the “State of UBC in Europe” (initiative undertaken for the European Commission) and the co-creator of the UBC Ecosystem Framework, you will receive key learnings and insights while drawing upon global best practice.

Aim of the workshop:

The aim of this workshop is to share key insights and experiences to highlight the practical steps you can take to improve your organisational, or own, collaboration with business.

Designed for:

This workshop has been designed to support diverse university stakeholders, including university leaders, administrators, head of faculty and departments, and academics who are seeking to deepen engagement with employers.

Format:

Drawing on over 20 years of experience, research and global best practice cases, this workshop combines important insights, lively discussions and practical exercises to challenge your thinking around engagement with business. The workshop will provide you with insights from the largest international study on UBC, specifically illuminating how academics, university management and businesses have a different world view. It will then challenge you to consider ways in which UBC can be successfully undertaken considering these factors.

Outcomes:

As a result of this workshop, you will have:

– specific best practice examples from global leaders in university-business cooperation,

– a more holistic understanding of the UBC environment and its challenges,

– deeper knowledge about the elements contributing to UBC success

– clarity about the primary areas of focus for your institution, or your own collaboration
