As an entrepreneurial university, TU Wien offers a wide range of programs and events aimed to inspire scientists and students and awaken their entrepreneurial spirit. Our activities range from learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, guest lectures offering unique insights into the latest thinking around innovation, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation management to full-fledged programs that support scientists and students on their path to establishing their own business as an alternative career opportunity (develop your ideas, turn them into a prototype, pitch and network with industry leaders, investors an experts, mentoring & guidance). Our activities are free of charge for TU Wien affiliates from all faculties and institutes of TU Wien but the number of places is limited and registration is required.

Please find below our entrepreneurial offerings for the summer semester 2019:

‘’Entrepreneurship for scientists’’ Series (for TU Wien scientists ONLY)
This series of workshops and events are for TU Wien scientists who want to enrich or develop a personal entrepreneurial skillset & business competencies, learn more about the opportunities to navigate innovations from „the lab“ to society or simply like to engage in entrepreneurial thinking.

‘’Founder & Investor Talk’’ Series (open to the public)
The i²c Founder & Investor Talks enable the diverse audience to learn first-hand from experienced founders and investors. They share lessons learned, dos and don’ts during their talks and answer the participants’ questions in interactive Q&A-sessions. The audience benefits from given tips and hints and gets valuable insights into the founder’s as well as the investor’s perspective. The talk series offers the possibility to network with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by some drinks.

‘’JointForces’’ Series (open to the public)
Event series in collaboration with WU

Get support for your project from a community of innovators and entrepreneurs of TU and WU. Present either your start-up or your first idea in a relaxed setting and without pressure. At JointForces, you have the opportunity to attract the attention of interested co-founders, employees, and mentors. The feedback from the community can provide the decisive impulse for the next step.Format:
3 START-UPS – Already founded start-ups, which have provided their proof-of-concept, are pitching and looking for employees, valuable contacts or investors.

3 PROJECTS – Without guidelines or specifications, future founders are presenting their project ideas to get some feedback and perhaps even get to know future co-founders.

3 SHOUT-OUTS – Everyone has the chance to make a brief request, an event announcement or whatever. No feedback, no questions – who wants to know more, has to ask for details during the networking afterwards.

Extended Study on Innovation – Education for Intra-& Entrepreneurship (for TUW affiliates)
The one year Extended Study on Innovation is a curriculum providing a premium, hands-on education on intra- und entrepreneurship for students of TU Wien and can be done in parallel to the main studies. It´s not only fostering innovative thinking but offering a solid education for entrepreneurial spirits, business developers and/or innovation managers. This additional education will not only enhance your job prospect in research and industry but also prepare you for an entrepreneurial life.

The curriculum is offered in addition to the study programs of the TU Wien. Only a limited number of students can be accepted for the curriculum, enabling them to individually apply the content learned to their specific, personal projects.
